The entrance to this cave is perhaps one of the grandest. Its 20 meter high overhang is reminiscent of a grand palace.

Built in the middle of the 11th century on a priory founded in the 6th century by a certain Ymeterius, a hermit from Saint-Claude, this church is isolated in the fields (the medieval village which surrounded it was burned down in 1477 and the dwellings were rebuilt away). This gives an incredible charm to this elegant building which was completely rehabilitated in 2011. Saint-Hymetière offers a fine example of rural monastic churches from the first Romanesque age. However, it is distinguished by its vaulted nave from the outset, semi-circular and unstructured.
