This castle was built in the 14th century. At that time, the towers were twice as high. It was inhabited by soldiers during the period when Burgundy belonged to England and there was a battle against the French. The castle is currently being renovated. The knights' hall is almost finished

At the mill there is no information at all about the mill itself, nor what opening hours apply. In my opinion, an absolutely missed opportunity. According to traditions (whatever they are?) this windmill was built in the first half of the 19th century. It is a very charming windmill that dominates the region at an altitude of 355 meters from where there are beautiful views of the surrounding countryside. The municipality of Bouhy decided to buy it in 2001 and carried out the restoration. We have experienced this restoration up close and it was excellently carried out, considering the current state of the mill. A fantastic and beautiful piece of heritage, especially if you look at the "folding" blades of the mill.

The round tower that dominates the surroundings and, above all, the four preserved or restored wings, which can now capture the power of the wind again as before, make it visible from afar: In its exposed location, this windmill is a recommendable eye-catcher in the landscape.

A true medieval fortress built on 11th century foundations, completed in the 13th century, then partly transformed during the Renaissance. The four corner towers, the two entrance towers defending the drawbridge, the moat and the dovecote surround the charming square interior courtyard. Since 1951, the pottery workshop, exhibitions, shows and courses have made Ratilly a leading art center. The well-preserved ensemble from the second half of the 13th century is a four-wing structure around an almost square inner courtyard, which is surrounded at the corners by four mighty round towers and is accessed on the south side via a portal flanked by similar towers. The buildings are surrounded all around by a now dry moat. Despite a variety of later structural measures, especially the post-medieval changes to the southern defensive buildings into homely refuges with open window fronts in the style of a castle, they have hardly lost any of the former fortified character of a castle complex. The historic castle is now a cultural center, a place where numerous concerts take place every summer and contemporary artists exhibit. In 2015 the facility had over 12,200 visitors. https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Schloss_Ratilly

The beautiful church of Treigny - Saint-Symphorien from the 15th century - is open for a visit (or a prayer). This should not be missed.

The Château de Saint-Vérain and the village were once one. The proximity of the Porte de Cosne suggests that Saint-Vérain was a castral village.

The Porte de Cosne was formerly known as the Porte du Vieux Château de Cosne. In the 9th century the village was surrounded by a wooded fortification until in the 12th century stone fortifications began to be built. Looking closely, one can see that the roof of the gate is exceptionally steep. The tower that originally existed was to be over 20 meters high and closed with heavy gates and a portcullis to prevent enemy attacks.
