Since there weren't many places to stop for a Sunday lunch on the Loire between Nantes and Chalonnes, we were all the more pleased to find this relaxed beach bar. They serve cocktails, beer, and soft drinks, as well as small snacks.

Very pleasant, very smooth. In summer we appreciate the coolness of these trees arched above the path.

The scene of one of the fiercest battles of the First Vendée War, this place is today a completely peaceful green setting.

Beautiful 12th century church listed as a Historic Monument and majestically set on the banks of the Loire.

I think the name of the hamlet refers to the pretty stone ford, but fortunately for hikers and cyclists there's a (narrow) footbridge to cross. Frankly, it's not for everyone when it comes to cycling. The descent on the west side has some very mountain bike-oriented sections and is too steep (in my opinion) to be climbed. Therefore, it's only possible from west to east, and only for exploration/adventure. Forget it for family or touring cycling.
