The burial mounds at Goloring date back to the Bronze Age and belong to a larger prehistoric burial site. They are located in the vicinity of the well-known circular ditch enclosure and show that the area was an important cultural and settlement landscape over 3000 years ago. Today, the mounds are still recognizable as gentle elevations in the forest and give an impression of the early settlement of the region.

The railway bridge near Bassenheim was built in the late 19th century as part of the construction of the Eifelquerbahn and primarily served for the transport of raw materials such as basalt and tuff from the region. It was part of an important connection between Koblenz and the Eifel and significantly contributed to the economic development of the Pellenz. With the decline of rail traffic in the 20th century, it lost its original function and was decommissioned. Today, it is a technical relic of industrialization and, as a striking structure, integrates into the hiking and cultural landscape. Parts of the old Eifelquerbahn route – including the bridge near Bassenheim – are now used as a cycle and hiking path. Thus, the bridge is not only a historical structure but is actively integrated into recreational use and is directly accessible on foot or by bike.

The tree-lined avenue at Karmelenberg was presumably created as a historical pilgrimage and procession route to the chapel, serving at the same time as orientation and protection in the open landscape. With its regularly planted trees, it forms a striking green corridor to this day. It vividly connects religious use and targeted landscape design. In a religious context, as at Karmelenberg, it also took on a protective and almost "blessing" role: A path under linden trees was not only shady, but also, in a figurative sense, a "protected path" to the chapel.

Ochtendung train station has a great restaurant right on the Maifeld cycle path. Small snacks and freshly tapped beer—including tasty non-alcoholic bottled beers—will revive the athletes' spirits...

Admittedly, the bench is a bit rotten, but it serves its purpose. The quarry makes this small rest area impressive. Here, the stone was not simply chipped out of the wall, as is often the case. Instead, the steep wall was undermined and the wall was broken down piece by piece. Cozy place!
