This monument commemorates the Halifax V of the British 138th Squadron, registration LL289 NF-P, shot down by flak at Saumur on its return from a mission to drop weapons for the French Resistance on the night of June 1-2, 1944. Of the seven members of the British-Australian crew, five were killed instantly and buried in the Longuée cemetery. The two survivors were taken prisoner by the Germans and were liberated in August 1944 and April 1945, respectively. Jeanne de Laval undoubtedly left her mark on the inhabitants of the Valley. For example, on 2 May 1471, she granted the inhabitants of the county of Beaufort, to which the parish of "Rouziers" belonged, the privilege of grazing their herds from the moment the first grass was cut for the king. To honour Jeanne de Laval, the municipal council decided to erect a statue in her honour in 1873. The statue is made of white marble from the Pyrenees. Triggered? This catering establishment has a small menu but a large selection of culinary flavours. Very friendly welcome. Reservations are not necessary. We have eaten both the fish and meat dishes. Highly recommended. If you can sit on the terrace, you are in a beautiful setting near the Loire.

The church of Notre-Dame des Rosiers-sur-Loire, of medieval origin, is particularly distinguished by its bell tower rebuilt during the Renaissance, the work of the Angevin architect Jean de L'Épine. At the top, a gallery offers a breathtaking view of the Loire and the Authion valley. The atypical plan of the church, the nave and the choir form a rectangle in the shape of an inverted boat.
