Land located on the site of the former village of Chalus-les-Bussières at the place called "Chazeron", was acquired by the SMVVA in 2018, with the aim of successfully carrying out the restoration work of the confluence of the Charlet with the Allier. The development and safety work is completed. The site is thus enhanced and the path allows visitors to discover its natural and built heritage. The buildings, a tower and a vaulted cellar, have benefited from work to ensure their preservation. For safety reasons, they are now equipped with grilles that close off access to visitors, but not to small animals, and in particular to bats, which we hope will find a suitable shelter there! A discovery trail "the confluence trail" (approximately 650 m) has been opened and equipped with information panels https://www.smvva.fr/restauration-chazeron/

A challenge with full luggage, as the Robert Pass is currently closed. Traffic was quite bearable. The pass hut was rather busy, but it was also Whitsun. I can't imagine what would have been like if the weather had been perfect.
