Chateau de Picquigny, whose records date back to 1066 and which, as a military fortress on the Somme (near the city of Amiens), occupied an important place. In 1475, the treaty between the King of France and the King of England was allegedly concluded there (on an island on the Somme), sealing the end of the 100 Years' War, whereby the House of Valois regained full French territory (except the city of Calais) under French rule after 116 years of conflicts with the House of Plantagenet, which also claimed French territory. In 1741, after years of vacancy, the property (Barony) was sold and fell into disrepair. Since April 2024, it has been in the hands of an association that protects the heritage and organizes activities on the site at certain times.
