As indicated by Lorenzo, it is possible to spend a night in a dormitory... depending on the number of volunteers (and therefore the space remaining available). I sent a message in advance to check if they could host me during my round trip from Montereau-Fault-Yonne to Vézelay. I highly recommend it...
