The so-called Seneca Tower ("Tour de Sénèque") from the Middle Ages rises on a peak of Monte Rottu (564 m) in a wild landscape, half-ruined, and offers a wonderful view of the Italian coast.

We stayed in a holiday home in Pietracorbara last week and went to these pools several times. Very beautiful. I can highly recommend climbing up the mountain to the right of the river. Also a nice climbing tour for children. Here you can discover a river valley completely lined with old stone walls. There are several old, partially collapsed houses, what appears to be an old mill and many other indications that intensive agriculture used to be practiced here, as in the whole of Cap Corse. In one place there is still an old peach tree with fruit. The Gumpe can also be easily reached from Cortina above Pietracorbara via the yellow hiking trail.
