This church is dedicated to a saint with many names: Mélar, Méliau, Melair, Mélaire, Melard, Meleuc, Méloar, Méloir, Meloire, and Miliau are French variants of "MELIAVUS of LANMEUR" (the official church name). This path runs along the stream of L'an-Doux-Kamm, and after a passage under the forest, leads to a place called Giler-Ar-Gal and its pretty Saint-Anne Chapel. This chapel, which did not suffer the ravages and destruction of the French revolution, has kept its original furniture intact. It deserves a visit.

One of the most impressive and extraordinary ensembles in Brittany can be admired in Guimiliau. Even those who do not know what to do with churches as an excursion destination will recognize the artistry and expressiveness of the objects inside and outside the "Enclos paroissial". The “enclosed parish”, as the translation for this Breton peculiarity, is home to widely famous architectural features and sacred sculptures in a very small space.
