The ashlar stone mill in square Désiré Pech is called Le Moulin à eau de la « Peïsseiro » in Occitan, or « Pacheiro ». Anchored since the Roman era on its coffer dams, the « La Pacheiro » water mill was still operating in the 13th century.

Know that you can swim, the water is 15 degrees all year round out of season, tap your foot before going in, you will see that there is life hiding in the holes in the stones

Cascastel-des-Corbières is a beautiful typical village of the Aude department known for its wine production! There are just over 200 inhabitants but the town offers enough restaurants to discover.

Beautiful little village typical of the Aude, which produces wine. Quite a few restaurants/bars but you will find a wine cellar and advice on how to choose!

I planned the route with Garmin Connect as a mountain bike tour. I have to say that the tour is really very demanding - especially the way back through the interior of the country. The way back runs over partly very steep and extremely rocky paths, which are more reminiscent of a bike and hike tour. Also, the kilometers should not be underestimated in this impassable terrain. All in all it was a very strenuous but great trip through a beautiful landscape.
