At the turn of a walk in the village of Feuilla, in the Aude, we see a wooden sign indicating "Foncaude Botanical Garden". A very pleasant walk in the middle of nature, at the edge of a river, leads to this surprising garden, inscribed as evidence in the landscape. Make an appointment with Dominique Jalabert. This collector gardener, passionate about cacti, created in 1991 a garden in three parts over more than 7 hectares. The visit begins with the arboretum and the 300 species of trees, shrubs and palm trees. Then we discover the 2nd part of the garden which nevertheless houses 340 wild or introduced species which are strictly Mediterranean. The highlight of the show remains the rock gardens with cacti and succulents. The collection of cacti and succulents from France, planted in the ground by Dominique, is gradually revealed to our astonished eyes. The garrigue landscape is magnificent and wild. To do coming from Feuilla, otherwise in the other direction it's not really a climb!
