The Neues Weimar Museum (formerly Neues Museum) This building is actually a magnificent Neo-Renaissance structure, but it has been completely redesigned and reopened simultaneously with the Bauhaus Museum. What is it about? It bridges Classicism (Goethe & Co.) to Modernity. Here you meet the "thinkers" like Henry van de Velde and Friedrich Nietzsche. The exhibition shows that Weimar was an extremely hot spot for avant-garde art and design even before the Bauhaus.

St. Mary's Church is the central focal point in the heart of the village and is located directly on the "Thuringian Towns Chain" cycle path. It was portrayed by Lyonel Feininger. The present village church developed on the site of a small, early Gothic, almost square chancel tower church by the beginning of the 19th century. https://www.stiftung-kiba.de/kirchen/st-marien-troebsdorf

The Tröbsdorf war memorial was erected for the victims of the First World War. The memorial consists of a brick obelisk on a pedestal, flanked by cannonballs. The pedestal bears lists of the names of those who fell between 1914 and 1918, which were later supplemented by the names of local residents who died in the Second World War. The area has since been replanted. It was created in the 1920s. https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kriegerdenkmal_(Tr%C3%B6bsdorf)

Fritz Cremer's famous Buchenwald sculpture is part of the Buchenwald Memorial, the largest and most important concentration camp memorial in Germany. Created between 1954 and 1958, the group of figures was restored between 2002 and 2005. The expressive group comprises eleven larger-than-life bronze figures symbolizing struggle and sacrifice, victory and the prisoners' oath. Behind the group of monuments, the 50-meter-high bell tower rises majestically, visible far into the distance.
