The castle park of the former Schleiz Castle is a fantastic sight in winter

A beautiful castle park, with a beautiful water feature in the middle. Unfortunately it doesn't always work, but the park is always worth seeing. There is a small circular route.

The palace park was redesigned a few years ago and invites you to linger. There is also a memorial for Russian soldiers who died here in World War II. Schleiz Castle was owned by the Counts and Princes of Reuss. After the bombing during the air raid on Schleiz in April 1945 and the ruins removed in 1950, only the two towers still exist. The hoods on the towers were reconstructed much later using old photos.
